Network/Communications Engineer The Role The person participates in a multidisciplinary team of engineers with main focus on reviewing subcontractor’s network and communication designs, drawings and specifications for different subsystems. Responsibilities • Participate on a technical team of systems engineers, hardware/software engineers, network engineers, and similar disciplines • Maintain understanding of the detailed technical requirements of the program, as they are related to the network/communications, based on original client contract documents and each subcontractor’s agreed upon statement of work • Conduct reviews of subcontractor plans for network/communications including designs, drawings, bills of materials, test scripts, and other such materials. In so doing, make comments and suggestions, and raise concerns or gaps in work being undertaken • Plan, conduct, and document results related to network/communications from joint design reviews with subcontractors. Ensure results of, and changes from, joint design reviews are integrated back into work plans. • Participate as an observer in various activities conducted by the subcontractors such as field installation site surveys. In so doing, make comments and suggestions, and raise concerns or gaps in work being undertaken • Audit various activities conducted by the subcontractors such as field equipment commissioning tests. In so doing, make comments and suggestions, and raise concerns or gaps in work being undertaken • Where concerns or gaps are identified, work with subcontractors to identify strategies and/or architect solutions to resolve. • Assist with writing portions of various project management plans related to schedule, risk, quality, logistics, etc. Functional Description: Participates and oversees Network and Communications designs reviews from subcontractors for the ATVAM program. Understanding of the process and activities associated with sizing, configuration, installation and start-up of Network and Communication components inclusive of support aspects such as data transmission, bandwidth, etc. Ability to work 25%-50% of the time to field locations in Saudi Arabia. Authority: N/C Engineer will report to Implementation Manager. Skills Required/ Candidate must posse good communication skills, methodical approach and excellent listening skills. Tem work is essential for this position. Strong personal integrity and ethical behavior. Characteristics: Interfaces: Interfaces with all team members and will interact actively with suppliers when required. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s (undergraduate) degree in Telecommunications engineering or equivalent experience. • Fluent in English is a must. Arabic is a plus • 3+ years in large scale projects is a plus • Project management knowledge desired
